Gloves must be the right size; the user must know the size of his hand.
As far as the material and thickness are concerned, the glove must be chosen based on the risk incurred: substances, products handled…
The glove must be chosen based on its task: protect the user, protect the product handled, protect both simultaneously, the gloves must be suitable for the work to be carried out in compliance with standards, regulations, directives and good practices.
The amount spent on the gloves must be a fair reflection of the quality and protection offered.
As far as this last point is concerned, Protecfina never forgets that beneath the gloves there are the hands of a man or woman….

General rules
No material is impermeable to chemical substances on a permanent basis and no material is resistant to all substances. A boat’s steel hull does not withstand the sea water for ever!
Certain substances penetrate a glove in a few seconds whilst others take hours.
You might conclude (rapidly) that the thicker the glove the better. But this would be to the detriment of dexterity, precision, delicacy of movement, comfort (a more resistant/thicker gloves requires more effort from the hand) and… of the price. A glove that is too costly is not a single-use glove…
- assess the risk
- choose the type of glove based on this risk (thickness, standards, material)
- Change gloves frequently (one task = one pair of gloves)
THE SOLUTION IS ALWAYS TO :
- its thickness
- the duration of immersion or contact with the product and the concentration of the product
- the room temperature
- the work carried out that may lead to an alteration of the glove (rubbing, abrasion, friction, etc.)
IN ADDITION TO THE GLOVE’S CONSTITUENT MATERIAL, ITS RESISTANCE TO PERMEATION WILL DEPEND ON :
Many professionals use single-use gloves in several layers with an “over glove” or an “under glove”.
All our gloves (latex, vinyl, nitrile) have obtained “food contact” certification from 2 independent organisms in accordance with applicable European directives and regulations.
